So, I’ve been on the hunt for my perfect chocolate chip cookie for quite a while now…a few years in fact. My perfect chocolate chip cookie may not be everyone else’s perfect chocolate chip cookie, but that’s ok. That’s why there are so many recipes out there for them. I’ve tried many, many recipes and think I’ve found the perfect one thus far…for me, that is. I want a crispy edge but a soft, chewy center. I love a Paradise Bakery chocolate chip cookie, you can’t really get any better than those in my opinion. So, that’s what I’ve had in my mind for my perfect cookie. This is as close as I’ve gotten. We’ll see how they hold up over a couple of days. That is also key in a great cookie. I thought I’d share some pics. And, yes, there is a bite missing…so what. It’s Christmas.
Bread, bread, and more yummy bread…
12 DecWe have been making a lot of loaves of bread for the holidays for people to give as client gifts, etc. They have been put in client gift baskets as well as just given as a small token of appreciation on their own. I would definitely appreciate such a gift! Here is a example of how we put some together to fit into a larger gift basket. Call us for your holiday baking needs. Check out our menu page, we have all kinds to choose from…or if you have something different in mind, let us know. We can work with you.
Hello Love…I’ve been missing you.
25 NovI made a new recipe for pecan pie today. I am not actually sharing this pie with our guests tomorrow unless we get low on other desserts, and then I’ll think about sharing it. This is one just for me and the hubby to snack on this weekend. Therefore, I felt no shame in cutting a teeny-tiny sliver of it tonight to test out. I mean, I’ve been standing in here cooking all day, I deserve that sliver, right? I’m trying to get a jumpstart on the calorie fest that will occur tomorrow anyhow. This pecan pie actually has no corn syrup in it. And, this might be my new favorite pecan pie. I had an off day with my crust, but managed to get it together in the pie plate. Still tasted good to me. Here’s a photo of my sliver of love.
Also, tonight, my little 4 year old soux chef and I made coconut marshmallow turkey cupcakes for our guests’ place settings. He did a great job putting them together. He was sneaking candy corn while I was frosting the cupcakes. He’s a sly one, but he might be a good cupcake maker one day. Gobble, gobble…
Minnie Mouse
19 NovI made these cupcakes for a little girl’s birthday party. Hot pink, polka dots and Minnie Mouse! I think they turned out pretty cute. I didn’t have time to find a small mouse ears cutter, so I made each by hand, meaning each is unique that’s for sure! I used white chocolate chips for the polka dots.
Bread, bread, and oh yeah…more bread!
17 Nov
This week Sweet Teeth got a pretty good gig making 25 full size loaves of Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread for gifts for a company’s clients for Thanksgiving. They are ready and eagerly awaiting their delivery as I type. They are packaged cute with cellophane, fall-colored bows, and they are made complete with a description of the bread and our logo stickers. If you know of someone looking for holiday gifts, look no further. We can do it! I’ll be updating our price list and goodies list over the next couple of days.
Bridal Shower + Red Velvet = FUN!
15 NovI made these red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for a bridal shower. The fondant flowers are a deep burgundy purple color, which is the color of the bridesmaid dresses. My hands are still showing after effects of getting the color deep enough in the fondant. (I need to get some gloves!) I hope the ladies enjoyed them. Happy marriage!
End of Season Soccer Cupcakes
9 NovTonight, my son had his end of soccer season party. This was his first season playing…and by playing, I mean, running around, kicking the ball from time to time and maybe once on accident, making a goal. Nah, not really…he did get pretty aggressive with the ball towards the end. It was a fun season and it was really great to see how they all progressed throughout the season. We all got together for pizza and the boys received their trophies. They also got cupcakes! That’s where I came in. I made white cupcakes with green grass frosting and soccer ball stick flags. And, I personalized them for the boys. Go Bolts!
Cinnamon Roll Birthday Cake!
8 NovNow, that’s my kind of cake. I have a deep crush on cinnamon rolls. I might even like them more than cupcakes. So when I was asked by a friend to make two dozen cinnamon rolls for their twin girls’ surprise breakfast birthday party, I was so excited! They kidnapped their friends in their jammies and took them to an early breakfast. Can’t wait to steal this idea for my little ones one day. Too cute! Here is their ooey gooey cinnamon roll tiered birthday cake. I sure wish it was my birthday.
Strawberry Shortcake Mini-Cakes
7 NovWell, not exactly, but just as delightful…strawberry cupcakes with fresh strawberries and strawberry buttercream frosting. This is a for a sweet girl’s cupcake themed birthday party. I made little fondant cupcake cutouts for the cupcakes as well. 3rd try was a charm on finding fresh strawberries. So glad I found them, because they completely made the cupcake. There’s no artificial “pink” in these cupcakes, just real strawberry flavor coming through. Really a treat! I can’t wait to try the cupcake with chocolate frosting. YUM.
Happy birthday, sweet girl!
Kick Up Your Heels!
7 NovThese were made for a friend on her birthday and for a girls night out. I get a new favorite every time I try a new cupcake, but then I go back to the chocolate cupcake with double chocolate frosting, and I am always lured back to the one I always loved the most. What would the world be like without chocolate?? I never want to know.
Happy birthday, Steph!
